Brucella abortus coloured antigen is a suspension of pure smooth culture of Brucella abortus strain-99 in phenol saline, with the bacteria coloured using crystal violet and brilliant green for enhanced visibility during testing.
This antigen is used for the plate agglutination test for serological diagnosis of Brucella infection in animals.
The antigen is available in 10 ml and 20 ml vials.
Store at 2–5 °C. At this temperature, the antigen keeps well for up to one year. Do not freeze.
Handle using standard laboratory biosafety precautions. Avoid contact with skin or eyes and dispose of test materials responsibly.
