Brucella abortus coloured antigen is a standardized suspension of smooth culture of Brucella abortus strain-99 in phenol saline, coloured with crystal violet and brilliant green. It is intended for serological screening of Brucellosis in animals using plate agglutination.

Brucella abortus coloured antigen is a suspension of pure smooth culture of Brucella abortus strain-99 in phenol saline, with the bacteria coloured using crystal violet and brilliant green for enhanced visibility during testing.

Indications

This antigen is used for the plate agglutination test for serological diagnosis of Brucella infection in animals.

Presentation

The antigen is available in 10 ml and 20 ml vials.

Storage and Keeping Quality

Store at 2–5 °C. At this temperature, the antigen keeps well for up to one year. Do not freeze.
