The Black Quarter vaccine is prepared from a highly antigenic strain of Clostridium chauvoei (Strain 49) grown in anaerobic fluid medium, inactivated by formalin, and precipitated by addition of alum.

The Black Quarter vaccine is prepared from highly antigenic strain of Clostridium chauvoei Strain 49 grown in anaerobic fluid medium, inactivated by formalin and precipitated by addition of alum.

Indications

This vaccine is used for active immunization of cattle, buffalo, sheep and goat against Black Quarter disease.

Dosage and Administration
  • Cattle / Buffaloes: 5–10 ml s/c depending on the size and age of the animal.
Immunity

The immunity is usually established in about 10 days and is expected to last for 6 months period.

Presentation

The vaccine is available in a minimum pack of 50 doses.

Storage and Keeping Quality

The vaccine transported at room temperature should be used within 21 days from the date of dispatch from this Institute. The vaccine transported and stored under refrigerated condition keeps well for two years from the date of manufacture.
