The Duck Plague Vaccine consists of an attenuated Duck Plague Virus (Holland strain) adapted to grow in chicken embryos. It is prepared by freeze-drying an emulsion of infected embryos, fluids, and chorioallantoic membranes from virus-infected embryonated chicken eggs.

The Duck Plague Vaccine consists of an attenuated Duck Plague Virus (Holland strain) adapted to grow in chicken embryos. The vaccine is prepared by freeze-drying an emulsion of embryos, fluids, and chorioallantoic membranes obtained from duck plague virus–infected embryonated chicken eggs.

Indication

This vaccine is indicated for prophylactic immunization of ducks against Duck Plague (Duck Viral Enteritis). It can be safely administered to ducks aged 8–12 weeks.

Reconstitution & Vaccination
  • Reconstitute the freeze-dried contents of each 400-dose vial in 200 ml of sterile normal saline.
  • Inject 0.5 ml of the reconstituted vaccine either subcutaneously (under the wing skin fold) or intramuscularly.
  • Keep the vaccine cool after reconstitution and use within one hour.
Immunity

Ducks develop immunity approximately 14 days after vaccination, and the immunity lasts for about 18 months.

Supplied as freeze-dried vaccine in 400-dose vials.

Storage & Keeping Quality

When kept in cold storage, the vaccine is stable for upto 18 months from the date of manufacture.

Handling and Safety

Use the vaccine immediately after reconstitution. Avoid exposure to sunlight or heat. Vaccinate only healthy ducks and dispose of empty vials responsibly.
